The Guwahati Regional Centre was established in 1996 with a total 6 Study Centres and 35 Programmes. In addition to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim were also under the jurisdiction of Guwahati |

The Regional Centre has been registering a steady growth since its inception both in terms of the number of Programmes being offered and the Enrollment. As of today, this Regional Centre is offering around 100 Academic Programmes at the Certificate, Diploma and Degrre levels. There are 158 Study Centres spread across various districts of Assam. Formulating short terms Skill Based Ampetency Programmes has been a special forte of this Regional Centres. Youth who have not been able to pursue higher education due to innumerable reasons are identified and provided such kind of Skill Based Training with a view to equip them. Most of these Programmes are given free of cost to the learner and these are completely financed by the Educational Development for North East Region Unit (EDNERU). |
